Did Remote-First Win the Remote Work Wars?

Amongst all the different ways we work today, remote-first seems to have KO’d everyone else.

Do you ever go into the office to interact with other humans but find yourself in a zoom meeting because one person is working remotely?

Welcome to remote-first world!

We discovered a lot of different ways of working during the pandemic. Most people enjoyed full remote work. But those people also missed the interactions and connections of face-to-face communication.

Management around the world also seemed to prefer more in-office work.

So it seems like a happy medium was found through remote-first.

Work from home or office but now we all have the zoom meetings to go along.

Where is this all going?

2 tips:

- try watch what leading companies do in this space. Think high tech and consulting firms like BCG

- see if you notice a pattern where there are more companies that are smaller — somewhere around 100 employees. Remote-first works a lot better for these businesses it seems

What are your thoughts? Did remote-first win the remote work wars?

Cheers!

Santi
